Memorial

I remember you as you were in the last autumn.
Spark-challenge in your eyes
bright as your glowing pipe embers.
Blazing, burning, smoking.

You would have chosen it.
Lit your candle from both ends.
Blazed vividly.
A supernova explosion,
a sudden shift in the universe, 
followed by dark silence.
